An Evening with Paul Harris

7pm, Friday 11 October, 2024

Join clarinetist, author and composer Paul Harris for an upbeat but poignant and candid recounting of his experience as a cancer survivor. Having enjoyed perfect health all his life, the diagnosis of Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma came as a bombshell that turned his busy life as a musician and globetrotting educator, upside down. With his signature positivity, warmth and gentle humour, he introduces us to a colourful array of personalities, talks us through the harrowing experience of treatment and explores the challenging psychological effects of dealing with serious illness. He describes how he ultimately found his way and, along with the help of a group of wonderful medics, was able to see his ordeal through to a happy conclusion.  The evening will wind up with a real treat: a short recital to include Mozart and more. All proceeds from this event will go to Lymphoma Action.

£15 per person (or more if you’re feeling generous!)
