Private View Monday 7 APRIL
Exhibition closes 25 April, 2025

The Union Club is delighted to present a stunning new collection of paintings by Kate Trafeli, one of which the artist has generously gifted to the club! The paintings are offered to members at studio prices for the duration of the show.
Painted on canvas and wood, and ranging from 20cm to over a metre in size, the works are priced from £450 to £4600.

Titled Attuale, the exhibition brings together two distinct but interconnected styles by Trafeli: abstract landscapes with movement and luminous depth, alongside symbolic works where recognisable forms (such as animals, trees, and boats) act as quiet anchors within shifting dreamlike spaces. Through her use of rich, intuitive colour and layered textures, Trafeli invites viewers into a world where boundaries between reality and reverie blur.

“My work comes from a deep emotive place – I want the viewer to feel that, and to be drawn in.” Kate Trafeli

Trafeli’s work exists at the verge between memory and dream. Landscapes dissolve into fields of vibrant colour. Symbols emerge, hinting at fragments of stories. Influenced by Fauvism, colour theory, and the evocative narratives of magical realism, Trafeli’s paintings are deeply expressive, distilling emotion into layered compositions that feel both familiar and otherworldly.
